Understand Path2Academy’s developmental pathway scale — from Grassroots to Elite — without treating a band as an official academy classification or registration.

Development Band™ is the Path2Academy pathway ladder. The report’s Observed Footage Benchmark is a developmental reference from this assessment’s footage against that ladder.
It uses Football Development Index™, assessment evidence and key development areas — so parents can talk about the submitted footage without treating a band as an official academy classification.

Important: Development Band™ is a Path2Academy developmental benchmark based on submitted footage. It does not represent academy registration or guarantee academy selection. JPL describes where a player currently plays and is not used as an observed benchmark score.
How it is produced
How bands are determined in plain terms
For each assessment, Path2Academy reviews submitted footage and player information using its structured methodology.
The resulting evidence and Football Development Index™ inform the Observed Footage Benchmark — which Development Band™ best describes this assessment’s footage.
Path2Academy does not publish public marketing cut-off tables. Bands are developmental benchmarks inside the product. They are not official FA academy classifications, club registrations or selection decisions.
